Xmas Eve and New Year's Eve

Heyyoo!! Happy New Year everyone!! I finally found some time to update my blog again :)

Just some update about my job and daily life ever since I start work. TBH, first week of work was stressful as asdfgfgh!! because I was told that I will only be put with a senior assistant in a consultation room for the first week only. However, by Wednesday of the first week, I realised that there were actually still a lot of things that I was unclear of. Sometimes, the doctors might just request Eye equipments on the spot and you have to get it for them like asap. It's thus a hassle if you are new like me, very unclear of where some uncommon equipment can be found. Furthermore, when the clinic gets busy, you have to rush through filing of case sheets, managing the system on the computer and getting stuff that the doctor needs. And rushing is just one thing. Getting things correctly done is another. Thankfully, I managed to grasp most of the basics by first week of Friday.

Gradually, I started improving in the second week. It got better until Friday noon came. Friday noon is 'special' because there's this consultant-in-charge present and she does some 'screening' stuff on her own. I didn't even know it was different because on the previous week's Friday, the consultant-in-charge was on block leave so it ran as per normal. I only realised that, as long as that consultant-in-charge is present, clinic will run in a slightly 'special-er' way, until the doctor kindly told me so.

And worse still, that consultant-in-charge is extremely fierce!!! She came into the room, to examine the kid's eyes and was talking to the parents when the kid decided to kneel on the chair. She looked at me and said "Girl, can you pls take care of the child?" in that fierce tone of hers.

So I did as told of course. I took a sweet and kinda tell the little girl to sit down. Then that consultant-in-charge just GLARED at me. In my heart, I'm just like "wts, she alrdy sit down what. Why you still glaring at me wts." But after a while, that little girl stood up on the chair!!! I was basically cursing in my heart like "Walau, can pls sit down properly anot. Give you sweet alrdy. Later you stand up I will kenna scolding one leh wts." I took a sticker and gave it to her and then ask her to sit down. She FINALLY sat down properly afterwards. After that, a senior nurse came in to warn me what that consultant-in-charge doesn't like. "This consultant-in-charge doesn't like to hear the word 'private patients' and doesn't like clinic assistants giving children sweets." And that was when I realise why that consultant-in-charge glared at me. LOL. So freaking fierce I swear to God.

I swear kids are hard to handle!!! That was just one incident. That noon, I had to handle a hyperactive boy also omg. I swear I secretly cursed many kids in my heart that noon although I still faked a smile on my face. Zzzzz. And I seriously cannot understand why some parents can't control their kids and expect assistant like us to care for them. Its your kid so its part of your responsibility also what. Worse still, some kids seriously have no manners at all, just anyhow take toys from the doctor's table and their parents didn't even say anything. In my heart I'm just thinking "can the parents pls review their parental teachings?"

Ever since I started working, I sleep at latest 11pm every night LOL. It's that tiring!! I'm basically just looking forward to all weekends and trips that I've planned!!!

Anyways, how did you guys spent your Xmas and New year? I hope you all had fun like I did :)

Xmas Eve

Similar to last year, I spent my Xmas Eve with the Lim family @ Lynnie's house. Had Xmas dinner and played some game with the Lim cousins.
