Boxing day

My boxing day turned out unexpectedly interesting.

Was at the dental earlier in the noon and decided to meet up with S for lunch. Again, we had no plans on where to have lunch so we chose JE. Wanted to chill at a café but ended up in a western restaurant as always.

Texas Chicken -- you were chosen because we had feels for chicken. LOL.

The tender chicken wasn't that tender afterall

S enjoying her chicken breasts
After our really late lunch, we wanted to go somewhere far to explore Singapore. Headed over to esplanade and around the MBS area.
That got us to realise how ashamed we should feel. As Singaporeans, our knowledge on these places aren't any better than tourists. HAAAA!

Escalator towards esplanade ((Stairway to heaven))

Candid shots taken by S

Walked about the Marina river trying to get some nice photos while enjoying the scenery. The water is quite murky actually.

Below are some photos taken while walking in the rain. It was drizzling slightly and we had free foot therapy in the rainwater!

Needless to say, I FAILED

Past by ONE FULLERTON to the Merlion park. Saw lots of tourists there. I thought S and I were the only Singaporeans there... And then again, I'm quite curious why is the Merlion such an attraction to the tourists.

Miniature Merlion ((Not vomiting water though))

Copied the tourists

Finally a more decent pic with the Merlion ((Trying to feel like how the tourists do))
Then continued walking... Our aim was to walk one round and get back to the esplanade mrt station.
Friendship goals. Just joking!!

While walking.., S called over to me, alarming me that there was a bird next to me just because I'm very very afraid of birds. To my surprise, I noticed something different about the bird. It was literally hopping like a rabbit??? I went closer to it and I went like "where's the other leg???". S was quite shocked too.

Honestly, I think anyone who sees a bird moving around with one leg will be shocked too. In my whole life, I've only seen handicapped dogs but not handicapped birds.

To me, birds have always been a weak and scary creature, but what I saw today enlightened me. They aren't as weak as I thought they were. Instead, that bird showed me what's perseverance. What a precious lesson to be learnt, you fella!!

I admire the value in you, little birdy!!
Then bid goodbye to the bird.

Tried to get a good shot of the Marina Bay Sands Hotel but the digger machinery and dirty water ruined it... Well... So I tried to take photo of what's on my right. The Fullerton Hotel looks so much better!

Then headache strikes again. ((It's a symptom of too much laughter)) So we decided to go off the place, and back home!

Got a candid shot by S again.

Went past this place filled with purple lotus. Purple has always been one of my favourite colour. So obviously, I liked the lotus as well!! Ever heard of 爱屋及乌?? They were pleasantly sweet!

Today was a photoshoot kind of day.

I guess boxing day is celebrated only by people with patience because they are the ones who will open their present(s) only today.

Nevertheless, Happy Boxing Day!
